Introduction: Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads, feeling that significant change is within reach but somehow still out of grasp? This sensation, both exhilarating and daunting, often lacks clear direction not because of the 'how' or 'what,' but the 'who.' Knowing who you are could be the key that unlocks a realm of potential you've only dared to dream of.


The catalyst for writing this article/post came from listening to the thought-provoking book, "The Courage to Be Disliked: How to Free Yourself, Change Your Life, and Achieve Real Happiness" by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. This book struck a chord with me, highlighting the remarkable parallels between coaching and the power it holds to fast-track personal growth and change. As someone who has personally experienced the profound impact of coaching and EQ assessments on my own journey, I found the book's message deeply inspiring and wanted to share these insights with others. Its also a foundational approach to my work in coaching others to overcome barriers and achieve self-defined success.


Disclaimer: It's important to note that while psychology and coaching share some critical core components, they are not the same. Psychology focuses on understanding human behavior, emotions, and mental processes, often in a clinical context, while coaching emphasizes goal-setting, accountability, and personal growth in a non-clinical setting. However, both disciplines recognize the inherent capacity for change within all individuals, a central theme that resonated throughout the book.


The message that we are all capable of change is both powerful and hopeful. What we choose to focus on expands, a critical component of coaching that deeply resonated with me on my own journey as a coaching client.
